OVERVIEW OF SAILING SCHOOL

Set Sail at Kogarah Bay Sailing Club Sailing School

Our sailing School operates many times a year, and we design it around a number of factors including the number of students attending, the age group of the students, and the sailing experience of the attendees.

You can learn to sail in six weeks with the the Kogarah Bay Sailing Club Sailing School. The course is supervised by an credited Yachting Australia sailing master and conducted by experienced sailors using boats supplied by the club.

Our course normally runs each Sunday for 6 approx weeks. Typical daily programme during weeks 1 to 6 includes theory & practical lessons in the morning, using either our safe, non-capsizing Access 303 sailboats, or the Tackers boats depending on age. Each student then has the opportunity to join the crew of an RL24 in the afternoon for our short-course racing.

Who should attend our Sailing School?

Anyone who enjoys the water. Parent and child teams are welcome as are individuals of any age. A parent or guardian can attend each lesson with the student to help set up and pack away equipment and boats.

KBSC will provide everything you require

Safety for our sailors is our primary focus. Accordingly, each student must wear a lifejacket & enclosed footwear. The Kogarah Bay Sailing Club will provide all safety gear, and the sailing dinghies used each day. Students should wear a hat and sunscreen while on the water.

What to bring?

Students will need enclosed footwear, hat and sunscreen, a change of clothes, and a towel for when they get wet. The club has showers for members, students and visitors.
